St. Mary's Church, Elloughton

St Mary’s Church dedicated to St Mary, the Blessed Virgin, was built in the latter half of the 13th Century from ashlar and stone rubble. The church was damaged by fire in 1964 but restored and re-hallowed the following year. St Mary’s has an excellent pipe organ which is used regularly. We meet for our Sunday services at 11.00am with a mixture of services including Holy Communion.. Please do get in touch if you would like to enquire about baptisms.

Seasonal services are well supported and include; Candlelit Nine Lessons and Carols, Christingle Services, Midnight Communion, Holy Week services and an annual Memorial Service for the bereaved.

St. Mary's is a very popular Church for baptisms and weddings. To find out more please complete an enquiry form here

St Mary’s benefits from having a church hall in close proximity of the Church and this is used for many of our social gatherings as well as acting as a hired building for the wider community.

For more information about St. Mary's please see our guide to St. Mary's.

Our graveyard is now full for burials, but we are still able to inter ashes in existing family graves, and have space for new cremated remains plots, for residents of Elloughton-cum Brough.

For more information on how to apply for a cremated remains plot please email revd.allright@gmail.com. The next available spaces available are under the church tower. Memorial stones are allowed of a simple 18 inch square design in grey granit, and we avise that you ahve circular hole cut in the stone to allow for a vase to be held in place.
